About Lower Hemisphere Heating Mantles
The Cary Company’s heating mantles offer uniform heat distribution for round-bottom flasks. Lower hemispherical heating mantles are an excellent alternative to heating methods with an open flame such as a Bunsen burner.
These heating mantles feature a uniform, low-watt density knitted and braided heating element capable of temperatures up to 842° F (450° C). The multi-stranded resistance wire offers increased durability and flexibility. Lower hemispherical heating mantles are ideal for use with a basket ring stand.
The 120 VAC model includes a 3″ (76mm) lead wire with NEMA L1-15R connector and a 4 foot (1.2m) power cord with NEMA 1-15 plug. The 240VAC model includes a 3″ (76mm) lead wire with no plug. Temperature controller is required and not included.
