About Upper Hemisphere Heating Mantles
The Cary Company’s heating mantles offer uniform heat distribution for round-bottom flasks. Upper hemispherical heating mantles work great to prevent vapor condensation in the upper half of a flask. The top opening can hold 1, 2 or 3 neck flasks on a ring stand. Laboratory heating mantles can function as an alternative to traditional heating methods such as a Bunsen burner.
Our upper hemispherical heating mantles feature multiple layers including ceramic insulation, wool insulation, the heating element, a pre-molded fiberglass liner and a fiberglass cloth. This heating element offers uniform heating and is durable for repeated use.
The 120VAC model includes 3″ (76mm) lead wire with NEMA L1-15R connector and a 4′ (1.2m) power adaptor cord with NEMA 1-15 plug. The 240VAC model includes a 3″ (76mm) lead wire with no plug. Temperature controller is required and not included.
